📘 Short Summary / Outline

Every believer knows what it feels like to be “in a pit”—whether it’s financial strain, loneliness, anxiety, health struggles, or family burdens. Psalm 40 reminds us that God not only sees us in the pit… He meets us there. Pastor Phil walks us through five powerful promises for anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or sinking.

1. God Will Respond (Psalm 40:1)

God hears your cry—every time.

- Psalm 91:15

- Isaiah 49:8

There is nothing that can stop God from listening to you today.

2. God Will Rescue (Psalm 40:2)

God has no intention of leaving His people in the pit. He lifts, He saves, and He pulls us out of what we cannot escape on our own.

3. God Will Restore (Psalm 40:2)

He sets your feet on solid ground. God restores stability, strength, and the ability to stand and function again.

4. God Will Be Revered (Psalm 40:3)

When God brings you out, your praise declares, “God, You did this…not me!” Your rescue becomes a testimony.

5. God Will Be Revealed (Psalm 40:3)

You may not see the purpose in your pit—but God does. Your struggle becomes a platform for His glory.

Application:

Whatever pit you’re facing today—fear, stress, money issues, loneliness, health concerns—God is already working. He responds, rescues, restores, and reveals His goodness through your story.
