**Easter Series: *Faces at the Cross — People Who Encountered Jesus in His Passion***

📘 Short Summary / Outline

In the second message of our Easter series, we look closely at "Judas Iscariot," a man who walked with Jesus, witnessed miracles, participated in ministry, and yet drifted into the unthinkable. Through Scripture, Pastor Phil helps us identify the "red flags" that can quietly grow in our own hearts if left unaddressed.

1. Spiritual Sounding (John 12:4–6)

Judas knew the language of faith but didn’t live it. It’s dangerous to sound spiritual while resisting true surrender.

2. Secret Sin (John 12:6)

Even while surrounded by Jesus’ teaching and miracles, Judas hid sin. Secret sin always grows in the dark.

3. Separation From the Savior (Matthew 26:14–15)

Turning from Jesus toward anything else—money, approval, comfort—sets us up for spiritual collapse.

4. Selfishness (Matthew 26:14–16)

When our needs outweigh everyone else’s, our spiritual life is already in decline.

5. Sorrow Without Surrender (Matthew 27:3–5)

Judas felt remorse, but he never turned back to Jesus. Feeling sorry is not the same as repentance.

Application:

Judas’ story warns us that ignoring spiritual red flags leads to destruction—but Jesus offers grace, restoration, and victory to all who turn to Him.
