Audacious Prayers | Sermon
📘 Short Summary / Outline
In Joshua 10, Joshua prays one of the boldest prayers in all of Scripture—a prayer so audacious that God caused the sun to stand still. Pastor Phil challenges us to pray with that same confidence, courage, and dependence on God’s power.
1. Adversity (vv. 5–6)
Audacious prayers are born in overwhelming situations. When the battle is bigger than us, we learn to pray bigger than ourselves.
2. Advance (vv. 7–9)
Audacious prayers are paired with bold action. We don’t just pray big—we move forward in faith, trusting God to meet us as we obey.
3. Audacity (vv. 12–13)
Joshua didn’t pray safe—he prayed specific and scary. Audacious prayer isn’t ego-driven; it’s rooted in confidence in God’s promise.
4. Amazement (vv. 10–11, 14)
When God answers audacious prayers, the results leave no doubt who deserves the glory. Only God can do what happened that day.
Application:
If the problem isn’t bigger than you, you won’t pray bigger than yourself. God invites us to pray boldly, act courageously, and stand amazed at His power.
