The Everlasting Riches of the Kingdom of God

Apr 15, 2026    Phil Anderson

Summary / Outline

Jesus teaches that earthly treasures are temporary, vulnerable, and ultimately unable to satisfy. Heavenly treasures—acts of obedience, generosity, prayer, love, and faithfulness—carry eternal value.

- Treasure & the Heart: What we treasure reveals what we love. As the notes say, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

- Light & Darkness: A “healthy eye” represents single‑minded devotion to God, while an unhealthy eye leads to spiritual blindness and self‑deception.

- One Master: Jesus makes it clear that “You cannot serve both God and money.” Our devotion, loyalty, and worship must belong to God alone.

- True Riches: As the notes emphasize, earthly wealth fades, but being “rich toward God” leads to eternal reward and true life.
