Tonight we reach the sixth and final antithesis in Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount—a teaching that overturns every natural instinct and reveals the supernatural character of the kingdom. Pastor Phil walks us through Jesus’ command to "love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us," a command that is not humanly possible but divinely empowered.
1. Loving Our Enemies Shows We Belong to the Father (Matthew 5:43–44)
- The scribes narrowed “love your neighbor” into “love your group.”

2. God Is the Model of Enemy‑Love (Matthew 5:45)

Application:
