Susan Marie Moutz passed away peacefully at age 68 on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on October 15th, 1957 in Akron Ohio to Dolores Jean Obney.
Sue is survived by her mother, Dolores Jean Obney, brother Mark, sister Linda, children Melissa and Jennifer, grandchildren Brittnee, Ava, Zoree, Alissa, and Justin; and great-grandchildren Liza and Arius. She is also survived by many friends who will miss her deeply. She is preceded in death by her brother Jamie, and sisters Karen and Traci.
Sue most recently worked at Essex Nursing Home as a STNA, and devoted her life to caring for others. She was a regular attender of Bethel Church in Tallmadge and was affectionately known as the "candy lady" due to her weekly rounds during service with her candy bag, making sure everyone had something to enjoy. Sue loved the color purple, sunflowers, owls, butterflies, and ladybugs. She also loved basset hounds, and most recently had one named "Sassy" who she loved like a child.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 31st at Bethel Church of Tallmadge (231 South Ave. Tallmadge, Ohio 44278) at 10am, with the funeral service to follow at Bethel Church at 11am. There will also be a funeral dinner to follow.
